Employer/Title: Volunteer Exchange student coordinator, retired physician, mom, host mom and wife.

When/Why you became a Rotarian: Jan 19, 2012.  I love Rotary!  I love the concept of service above self.  I think volunteering is something that helps us cross cultural and socioeconomic boundaries and also allows us to be more thankful for what we have. I love the opportunities for Youth and Adult international exchange.  I love the great people in the Ashburn Rotary club.  I lived in Virginia for 4 years before making as many friends as I have in  our club.  Thinking about our club and its members makes me smile.  Recently I have had the opportunity to visit other clubs in the US and abroad and can't believe the hand of friendship and welcome I have felt.

Family: I have a husband of almost 20 years who is  a research scientist.  A 16 year old daughter who is a Rotary Exchange student in Peru this year, an energetic, bright, athletic 10 year old son and a 16 year old Australian exchange student at present who is number 63 to live in our home.

I am really looking forward to goingnon an international service trip.  When and where guys?

I like being part of an organization who is eradicating Polio in all the world!
