On October 25th at King Pinz in Leesburg, Rotary Club of Ashburn members and guests will take to the lanes to raise money for the Polio Plus Project.  The club is one of fifty-two participating in District 7610's effort to raise $100,000 for the cause.  Service Committee chair Justina Dee commented, "We're excited about this great event, our partnership with King Pinz, and the opportunity to raise money to eradicate this crippling and potentially fatal disease."  Transmission of the poliovirus has been stopped in all but three countries – Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan – and the virus is being contained within increasingly smaller geographic areas within those countries.

Along with Rotary members and their families, we hope to see prospective members and guests come out for this event.  "There's a lot of excitement around this bowl-a-thon, and it's going to be a fun evening with family and friends at a great location." said Doug Corbett Public Relations chair.  The priced of admission includes shoe rental, pizza and soda.  Ashburn Rotary is looking for sponsors, donations, and contributions!  Bowlers are looking for pledges (that's where the "a-thon" comes in) either a dollar or per pin amount.  If you're interested in attending, we need that headcount so please RSVP to [email protected]  If you're interested in donating, contact Mike Kipp at 703 858-3614.  Checks should be made payable to "Rotary Club of Ashburn VA Foundation".
