The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
President's Message
Kenneth Courter

Good Day,
I wanted to share the evolution of a service project at our Club.  Weeks back I announced that we would team up with Giant to collect backpacks and school supplies for disadvantaged children in Loudoun.  At that time we had 600 backpacks in storage at Daryl Collette’s business Automotive Quality Solutions.  Lance Nobles with FVC Bank jumped in to make a substantial donation and Jeff Leach with AlphaGraphics offered printing, Tom McGhee had the flyers designed to be handed out at Giant stores.  Adam Benware set up a SignUp Genius and you responded by volunteering to ask Giant customers to purchase and help in the drive.  Next Costco donated another 600 backpacks.
Giant Store Managers and staff were great and helped with donations.  JK Moving picked up 10,000 pounds of school supplies and delivered to the Loudoun County Public School Boardroom.  Dave Butcher’s business Road Runner Wrecker Service moved the backpacks the morning of the event.  Dr. Michael Richards, Wendall Fisher and Brenda Allen with LCPS opened their doors and helped us setup the room for the assembly line.  Friends, neighbors, Rotarians, Giant store managers helped fill the 1,200 backpacks to be distributed to 60 elementary schools.  Additional donations were made to the Volunteers of America Loudoun Emergency Homeless Shelter and Good Sheppard Alliance.  Most importantly a special thanks to My Pham and Tam Baer with Giant for making this entire dream come true.  Phyllis Randall, Chairperson of the Loudoun County Board thanked us as well as Brenda Sheridan, Vice Chair and Joy Maloney from the Board of Education appreciated our generosity for the upcoming school year.
Please share with me what volunteer projects you’d like to work on in the coming months.  The Rally For Our Kids required 200 hours of your time and that of many friends, family and the Interact Club at Broad Run High School.
You are needed to help those less fortunate and work on a service project to help Ashburn, Virginia.

Yours in Service, Ken Courter, Keller Williams Realty
