President's Message
Kenneth Courter
Good Day,

I’m sure you are tired of football and the cold weather.  The holidays were a great break to be with family and friends.

Now for New Year’s Resolutions.  Take a day at a time and you’ll hit your goals.  Mine are to become a better citizen and take more time to smell the roses.  Health is always the most daunting and challenging.  Also, I intend to eat less junk food and really exercise.

With Rotary we should all be very proud of our accomplishments.  Now for the first half of 2018 we have a couple of major tasks at hand.  They include digging water wells in Africa and raising monies for Interact Scholarships.  In between that we have a blood drive/health fair, Mardi Bras, Brewer’s Brunch, It Takes a Village Baby car seat safety seat event and food drive.  You will each have opportunities to touch the lives of people here and around the world.  As a service club we have a direct impact on the lives of many.  You are needed to make these events a reality.  Give it all your best and enjoy the rewards of helping others.  I promise it will put a smile on your face and an extra spark in your life.

See you all Thursday at 1757 Golf Club.  Thank you for being the best Rotary Club in the World.

Happy New Year,
Ken, President, Rotary Club of Ashburn, VA

The Four-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:

Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
